| Reverse description | Central square hole flanked by four Chinese ideograms arranged in cruciform reading order, identical in legend and script style to the obverse, rendering this a double-sided inscription piece — an uncommon variety. The characters 崇寧通寶 (Chongning Tongbao) are again cast in Slender Gold calligraphic style, reading clockwise from the top. The flat field shows typical patination consistent with cast bronze coinage of the Northern Song dynasty. |
