| Beschrijving voorzijde | Two crossed flags — the five-barred Flag of the Republic of China (right) and the eighteen-star Wuchang Uprising flag (left) — displayed in saltire at the centre of the field, their staffs tied together with a ribbon at the crossing point. A dotted inner circle frames the central device, with four small floral ornaments at the cardinal points between the circle and the outer legend. | Beschrijving keerzijde | A central denomination legend in large Chinese characters occupies the upper field of the reverse. Below, a symmetrical decorative device composed of a stylised floral motif flanked by sprays of wheat or grain ears is displayed, all enclosed within a wreath or vine of leaves that forms a circular border around the design. The composition is formal and heraldic in character, with the botanical elements rendered in low relief against a plain field, and a beaded border running along the coin's periphery. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
The "Founding of the Republic" copper cash series was issued to commemorate the 1911 revolution that ended Qing dynastic rule, though by 1920 the Republic itself was barely functioning as a unified state — warlords controlled most provincial mints, and coinage authority was fragmented accordingly. This fifth issue reflects that decentralization: multiple facilities struck pieces to varying standards, and attribution of individual specimens to specific mints remains contested among specialists.
Y#304 designations cover considerable die variation within the fifth issue grouping.
