10 Bolivianos Rojas, Series D-E

Bolivia's 1995 monetary reform replaced the peso boliviano-era designs with this series, consolidating the central bank's note production across two European printers — De La Rue in London and Oberthur in France. The split production between Series D and E reflects that dual sourcing arrangement, though the notes circulated interchangeably without distinction. At just over twelve million printed across both series, it was not a high-volume run for a denomination in active everyday use.

Security specification on this issue is minimal by late-1990s standards — watermark and thread only, with no OVI or microprinting. Bolivia upgraded its note security substantially in the following decade.
