The P#45 series spans seven years, but the practical window of meaningful circulation was compressed by Venezuela's rapid monetization of oil revenues through the 1960s — denominations at this level were workhorses, passing through hands at petrol stations and market stalls rather than sitting in reserves. Thomas De La Rue printed the series in London, as they did for the bulk of Venezuelan currency output during this period, a arrangement that reflected Caracas's preference for external production security over domestic capacity.
