备注

This series was issued following the re-denomination of Ethiopian currency in 1945, when the Ethiopian Dollar replaced the East African shilling at a fixed rate — but the 1966 notes represent a later printing refresh under Emperor Haile Selassie I's government, produced by De La Rue at a moment of relative monetary stability before the political turbulence of the following decade. Ethiopia retained De La Rue through successive note generations largely due to the printer's long relationship with the imperial court.

The watermark is the sole machine-readable security measure in the series — no security thread, no fluorescent ink.
