| Obverse description | Central field displays the quartered arms of Fribourg on an ornate baroque shield surmounted by a mural crown, the whole flanked by two symmetrical branches of olive or laurel tied at the base. The shield bears the characteristic sable and argent division of the Fribourg arms. The circumferential legend CANTON FREYBURG runs along the upper periphery in raised Latin lettering, separated from the milled border by a shallow field. |
