He rests his left hand upon a large heraldic shield inscribed XIX / CAN / TONE, referencing the nineteen cantons of the Swiss Confederation. The circular legend SCHWEIZERISCHE EIDSGENOSSENSCHAFT arcs around the upper periphery, while the denomination 10. BATZ: is inscribed in the lower exergual area. The rim is bordered by fine dentilation throughout.
