| Obverse description | Central field bears the National Emblem of Oman, depicting two crossed khanjar daggers overlaid on a pair of crossed swords, with a belt at the intersection. The emblem is rendered in high relief against a plain field. An Arabic legend curves along the upper periphery reading the ruler's name and title, and continues along the lower periphery with the designation 'Sultan of Oman.' The entire design is enclosed within a dashed inner border near the rim. |

Haitham bin Tariq Al Said acceded to the Sultanate on January 11, 2020, following the death of Sultan Qaboos — who had ruled for nearly fifty years without ever naming a formal heir. The transition was handled within hours under a sealed succession letter Qaboos had left with the Royal Family Council, a mechanism established precisely to avoid the dynastic uncertainty that had plagued the region. Coinage bearing Haitham's name began appearing the same year, making this among the earliest physical artifacts of his reign.
