By the time this note entered circulation, the political ground had already shifted. Rama VII — Prajadhipok — abdicated in March 1935, mid-way through this series' issue window, making him the only Siamese monarch to do so and leaving notes bearing his royal association in the hands of a country that had just formally abolished the absolute monarchy two years earlier, in 1932.
De La Rue's contract with the Siamese government for this series predated the constitutional crisis, and the printing plates were not revised when the political situation changed. The notes continued to be released regardless.
