| Obverse description | The aluminium-bronze centre features conjoined busts of two distinguished figures facing forward within the field: at left, an earlier statesman in formal attire, and at right, a bespectacled figure similarly dressed, both rendered in high relief. Floral ornamental devices appear at the left and right sides of the copper-nickel ring. The Thai legend around the ring reads the royal name and title of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX), the country name Thailand, and the Buddhist Era date 2547. |
