| Obverse description | Printed in red on white paper, the obverse is dominated by a central oval vignette of a coastal scene with a lighthouse on a rocky promontory and a sailing vessel at sea, enclosed within ornate guilloche borders. The bank title BANCO NACIONAL ULTRAMARINO arcs across the top alongside Chinese characters, with the denomination DEZ AVOS rendered in large letterpress type on either side of the vignette. Decree details and the imprint of the printer appear below the serial number panel at foot, flanked by the manuscript signatures of the Gerente and the Director de Fazenda. |
