| Opschrift voorzijde | IMP C G VAL DIOCLETIANVS P F AVG |
| Beschrijving keerzijde | Jupiter, naked to the waist and draped below, seated facing on an ornate high-backed throne, his head turned to the left. In his extended right hand he holds a thunderbolt, while his left hand rests upon a long sceptre. At his feet to the left, an eagle stands facing, holding a wreath in its beak, serving as the divine symbol linking Jupiter to imperial authority. The mintmark appears in the exergue below the throne. The composition conveys the Tetrarchic theological program associating Diocletian with Jupiter Conservator as divine protector of the emperor and the empire. |
