| Reverse description | The reverse features a detailed central depiction of the Cathedral of St. George in Elyr (Elyr-Nykha), rendered in relief. To the left of the cathedral appear two subsidiary motifs: a sacrificial bull and an arrowhead-shaped votive offering known in Abkhazian as 'афырхы'. A semicircular inscription in Abkhazian arcs across the upper field, reading 'АЦҚЬА ГЬАРГЬ (АЕРГЬ) ИЗКУ ЕЛЫР-НЫХА' (The Cathedral of St. George in Elyr). Below the cathedral, a legend records the historical date of the building's construction. Selected areas of the design are highlighted with applied gold plating, accentuating the architectural and decorative elements. |
