正面描述 Central field features the coat of arms of Rwanda in relief, depicting a central shield bearing a knotted rope motif, flanked by a coffee plant branch on the left and an olive branch on the right, with crossed traditional tools behind the shield and a sun above. A scroll at the base of the arms bears the national motto. The legend REPUBLIKA Y'U RWANDA arcs along the upper rim of the arms device, while AMAFARANGA ICUMI arcs along the left and right outer fields respectively, and the numeral 10 appears prominently at the bottom of the coin.

附加信息

Rwanda's National Bank introduced brass-plated steel coinage in the early 2000s as part of a deliberate cost-reduction program following the catastrophic economic collapse that accompanied the 1994 genocide. The shift away from solid brass was purely fiscal — the country was rebuilding its monetary infrastructure from near nothing, and cheaper planchets were a practical necessity rather than a design choice.

The "Type 1 legend" designation distinguishes this issue from a subsequent variety with a modified inscription layout, a revision made within just a few years of this coin's introduction.
