| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Rwanda is centrally depicted, featuring a knotted rope at the base, crossed sorghum and coffee plant sprigs flanking a central shield, and a sun above. The denomination numeral '10' appears in the lower field, flanked by the Kinyarwanda legends 'AMAFARANGA' to the left and 'ICUMI' to the right. The circular legend 'BANKI NKURU Y'U.RWANDA' arcs across the upper field. The design is rendered in high relief against a polished mirror field. |

| Additional information |
Rwanda has issued a long-running series of fractional gold pieces under foreign licensing arrangements, with the kangaroo design having no geographic or historical connection to the country — Rwanda functions here purely as the issuing authority of convenience, a practice common among small nations generating mint revenue through collector-market bullion products. The Scottsdale Mint in Arizona produced this series for the Rwandan central bank.
