Additional information

Rwanda has issued a long-running series of fractional gold pieces under foreign licensing arrangements, with the kangaroo design having no geographic or historical connection to the country — Rwanda functions here purely as the issuing authority of convenience, a practice common among small nations generating mint revenue through collector-market bullion products. The Scottsdale Mint in Arizona produced this series for the Rwandan central bank.
