Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse features the national coat of arms of Rwanda centrally placed within the field, depicting a traditional Rwandan basket (agaseke) flanked by a coffee branch and a sorghum stalk, surmounted by a sun and encircled by a knotted rope. The legend BANKI NKURU Y'U RWANDA arcs along the upper periphery, while AMAFARANGA 10 ICUMI appears in the lower field, denoting the denomination. The design is rendered in high relief against a smooth, mirror-like field consistent with proof-quality minting.

Aanvullende informatie

Rwanda's National Bank has issued a handful of fractional pieces in exotic metals as part of collector-focused programs, and indium — a soft, silvery post-transition metal best known as an industrial component in LCD screens and photovoltaic cells — is an unusual choice even by those standards. Global indium production is measured in hundreds of tonnes annually, almost entirely as a byproduct of zinc smelting, with China dominating supply.

At 0.5 grams, this is among the lightest indium coins struck for any issuer.
