Opmerkingen

The P#37 series was issued under the reign of Mohammed Zahir Shah, Afghanistan's last king, during a period of relative economic stability when the Bank of Afghanistan was actively modernizing its currency infrastructure with foreign technical assistance. Thomas De La Rue had been printing Afghan notes since at least the 1930s, and their relationship with Kabul remained uninterrupted through several denomination reforms.

The watermark is the sole security feature — unremarkable by De La Rue's own standards for the period, but consistent with what Kabul could practically verify in rural circulation.
