Obverse description Portrait of Mohammed Zahir Shah, the last King of Afghanistan (r. 1933–1973), positioned at centre or right of the vignette, rendered in intaglio. The king's likeness is set against a fine guilloche underprint, with royal inscriptions and denomination numerals in both Eastern Arabic and Latin scripts framing the design.

Reverse description Central intaglio vignette of the Green Mosque (Masjid-i-Sabz) in Balkh, northern Afghanistan, rendered in dark burgundy tones, with the domed structure and flanking minarets rendered in fine line engraving. The bank name in Arabic script — بانك افغانستان — appears in the upper right, with the denomination numeral ١٠ at lower right and افغانیت at lower centre, framed by ornamental guilloche borders and stylised floral corner devices.
