Neonteichos — "New Wall" in Greek — was a minor Aeolian city on the coast of Asia Minor whose independent coinage is attested only through a handful of small bronze types. The city's precise civic history is poorly documented, and it likely fell under Pergamene administrative control during the 2nd century BC, which may explain why this series ends without a later phase.
The SNG Copenhagen and von Aulock references remain the primary anchors for attributing these bronzes; few other collections have catalogued them at all.
