| Beschrijving keerzijde | A dolphin depicted in profile, curving across the field, rendered in shallow relief with a stylized, somewhat schematic treatment characteristic of small civic bronzes from Lesbos and the surrounding Aegean islands. The motif alludes to maritime commerce and the sea-faring nature of the issuing community. The field is otherwise plain, with no visible legend or exergual inscription. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Pordosilene was a small polis on the island of Lesbos, largely overshadowed by the dominant city of Mytilene throughout the Hellenistic period. Its autonomous bronze coinage is sparse and poorly documented, which makes any surviving piece a useful marker of the town's intermittent assertion of civic identity during the last two centuries BC.
