Obverse description Square klippe flan struck in hammered silver, presented on point (rotated 45 degrees). Along the upper two edges runs the two-part Latin legend EXTREMVM / SVBSIDIVM ('last resort'), incuse within a plain border. At centre, the crowned city arms of Kampen — a tower with an arched gateway — occupy the field. To the left of the shield, a cartouche bears the denomination mark X½ (ten-and-a-half stuivers), and a corresponding cartouche to the right bears ST (stuivers). Below the shield, the city name CAMPEN is inscribed, and the date 1578 appears in a rectangular tablet at the lowermost point of the flan.
