Obverse description The Polish state eagle, uncrowned and displayed with wings spread, occupies the central field, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished background. The date 1988 is divided by the eagle's body, with '19' to the left and '88' to the right. The circular legend 'POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA' runs along the upper periphery in raised Latin characters. The denomination '10000' flanked by the 'ZŁ' currency abbreviation on each side appears prominently in the lower field. The mint mark of the Mennica Polska appears below the eagle.
