Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse features a detailed architectural rendering of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests within the Temple of Heaven complex in Beijing, depicted in high relief at the centre of the coin. The iconic triple-tiered circular structure with its distinctive conical blue-tiled roof is shown in three-quarter perspective, with its ceremonial stairway and surrounding marble balustrade rendered in fine detail. The Chinese legend 中华人民共和国 (People's Republic of China) arcs along the upper periphery in large characters, while the four-digit date 2025 appears in the lower field beneath the central design.

Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse presents a naturalistic scene of three giant pandas (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) in a bamboo grove setting. A mother panda and cub are depicted atop a rocky outcrop in the upper left, while a juvenile panda sits prominently at centre right, contentedly holding a bamboo sprig to its mouth, and a third small cub reclines playfully in the lower centre foreground. Bamboo foliage frames the composition on both sides, rendered with fine botanical detail. The weight and fineness inscription '1kg Au.999' appears in the upper right field, and the face value '10000元' is inscribed in the lower left field.

Aanvullende informatie

The kilogram Panda gold coin occupies a peculiar position in the series: technically legal tender at a face value so far below melt that the denomination is purely nominal, a fiction maintained because Chinese law requires bullion issues to carry one. The People's Bank of China has struck kilogram Pandas since 1987, but mintages for the largest format have always been tightly controlled — typically a few hundred pieces annually — making secondary market premiums over spot substantial regardless of year.
