Reverse description The imperial sixteen-petalled chrysanthemum seal of the Japanese Emperor is centrally depicted in relief, encircled by a decorative wreath of foliage and berries tied with a ribbon at the base. Surrounding the wreath, the legend is arranged vertically on the left reading 御在位十年 (10 years of reign) and on the right 平成十一年 (Year 11 of Heisei), with 日本国 (State of Japan) to the left and the denomination •1万円• at the base. A raised beaded border frames the entire design. The composition commemorates the tenth anniversary of Emperor Akihito's reign.
