正面描述 A portrait vignette of King Sejong the Great occupies the centre-right of the obverse, rendered in fine intaglio engraving against a multicolour guilloche underprint. To the left of the portrait, a detailed vignette of the Jagyeongnu water clock (joseon-era automated clepsydra) is set within the decorative surround. Denomination numerals and issuer inscriptions appear at the upper and lower margins, with the year of issue noted in the lower field.

背面描述 The central vignette presents a finely engraved intaglio view of Gyeonghoeru Pavilion within Gyeongbokgung Palace, Seoul, its traditional tiered roof and colonnaded structure reflected in the surrounding pond. An ornate floral and geometric guilloche medallion occupies the left margin, while denomination numerals appear in bold lettering at the lower left and upper right corners. The issuer name and copyright notice are inscribed along the upper and lower borders, with the Korean inscription 경회루 identifying the pavilion below the central vignette.

备注

The P#52 series ran from 1994 through 2002, bridging South Korea's recovery from the 1997–98 IMF crisis — a period when public confidence in domestic institutions was genuinely shaken. The 10,000 Won note remained the highest denomination in circulation throughout that crisis despite calls to introduce a 50,000 Won note, a proposal repeatedly shelved until 2009.

Security is modest by contemporary standards: a simple watermark and embedded thread, with no color-shifting ink or microprinting. The Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation had the technical capacity for more by 2000, but the denomination's replacement was already in planning, limiting investment in upgraded features.
