| Obverse description | The obverse features the state emblem of Mongolia — the soyombo symbol surmounting a stylized shield — displayed within an ornate cartouche at the upper centre of the field, accompanied by a decorative laurel wreath below. The legend 'Монгол Банк' (Bank of Mongolia) in Cyrillic script is inscribed in cursive style across the centre of the emblem, flanked on either side by vertical inscriptions in the traditional Mongolian script. The denomination '10000 TUGRIG' is boldly rendered in large numerals and Latin lettering in the lower centre of the field. Along the lower arc, the inscriptions 'MONGOLIA', '1 KG', '999 SILVER', and '1996' are incused in Latin characters, attesting to the coin's metal content and weight.
