Obverse description	At centre, the emblem of the Bank of Mongolia — a stylised cartouche enclosing the Soyombo national symbol above a decorative lotus-petal base — with the cursive Cyrillic legend 'Монгол Банк' inscribed within the emblem. Traditional Mongolian script legends flank the emblem to the left and right in the field. The large face value '10000' appears prominently below the emblem, with 'TUGRIG' beneath it. Along the lower rim, the inscriptions 'MONGOLIA', '1 KG', '999 SILVER', and '1996' are engraved, denoting the country, weight, fineness, and date. The coin features a reeded edge with a sawtooth pattern visible on the obverse rim.

Reverse description	Three Siberian tigers (Panthera tigris altaica) are depicted in high relief against a mirror-polished field: a large adult tiger is shown in the upper portion in silver relief against a darkened background, while two cubs in the foreground are rendered in vivid polychrome enamel colour, their orange and black striped coats contrasting dramatically with the reflective silver field. The composition conveys a naturalistic scene of the endangered subspecies in a wildlife setting. The Latin species name 'PANTHERA TIGRIS ALTAICA' is inscribed in gold-coloured letters along the right rim, and the date '1996' appears in the lower exergue.
