The 10,000 Tögrög is the highest denomination in regular Mongolian circulation, and this 2021 issue commemorates the centenary of the 1921 revolution that ended Chinese suzerainty and established the Mongolian People's Republic under Soviet patronage. Giesecke+Devrient in Leipzig has printed Mongolian currency for decades — a relationship that reflects Mongolbank's consistent preference for German security printing over regional alternatives.
Paper rather than polymer at this denomination is a deliberate choice; Mongolia trialed polymer on lower values but has not extended it to the 10,000.
