Opmerkingen

Belarus redenominated in 2000, introducing a new ruble series to replace the catastrophically inflated post-Soviet issues — by that point, the outgoing 1992–1999 notes had shed so many zeros that everyday transactions required bricks of cash. The 10,000-ruble denomination, substantial at introduction, was rendered effectively petty-cash within a few years as inflation continued grinding through the Lukashenko-era economy.

Pick 30 is part of a series produced without the embedded metallic thread technology that would appear in later Belarusian issues — the security thread here is a simple embedded type, unremarkable by contemporary standards but consistent with the National Bank's budget constraints at the time of issue.
