Obverse description At centre, the two-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia, wings lowered, enclosed within a beaded circle. The curved Cyrillic legend БАНК РОССИИ arcs below the eagle. Above the beaded circle, the denomination ДЕСЯТЬ ТЫСЯЧ РУБЛЕЙ is inscribed along the upper rim. In the lower field, flanking the date 2006 г., appear the precious metal designation and fineness (Au 999) with the Moscow Mint monogram (ММД) to the left, and the fine metal content together with the individual coin serial number (№___) to the right.
