| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a richly detailed pictorial composition depicting a scene inspired by Alexander Pushkin's literary legacy, dominated by a large spreading oak tree rendered in finely engraved high relief. Beneath the oak, a seated male figure representing the poet is shown in a contemplative pose, accompanied by a cat at his feet — an allusion to the famous lines from Pushkin's prologue to Ruslan and Lyudmila. Various figures and woodland creatures inhabit the scene among the branches and surrounding landscape. In the lower portion of the field, a curved ribbon cartouche bears the inscription А.С. Пушкин / 1799–1837 in Cyrillic cursive script, with a small lyre emblem positioned to the right. The overall composition is executed in a romantic, illustrative engraving style befitting a commemorative issue of this significance. |
