Opmerkingen

Kabupaten Labuhan Batu was one of dozens of Indonesian regional administrations that issued emergency currency during the Indonesian National Revolution, when the fledgling Republic struggled to maintain a functioning monetary system against Dutch military pressure. These kabupaten-level notes filled a genuine void — central supply lines were disrupted, and local populations needed something to trade with.

P#367A is among the higher denominations in this regional emergency series, which itself signals the inflationary pressures already grinding through the revolutionary economy by 1948. Locally printed in Rantau Prapat under improvised conditions, production quality varies considerably across surviving examples.
