| Obverse description | Intaglio portrait of Policarpa Salavarrieta, the Colombian independence heroine, occupies the center-right of the note, rendered in fine line engraving against a multicolored guilloche underprint in rose and light blue tones. The denomination "DIEZ MIL PESOS" is printed in large letterpress characters to the left of the portrait, with the issuer's name "BANCO DE LA REPÚBLICA" and "COLOMBIA" at the upper center, the place and date of issue below. Pre-Columbian decorative motifs form a border strip along the top edge, and a circular Indigenous design vignette appears at the far left. |
