The reverse presents a panoramic scene of the Amazon River and its people, rendered in soft multicolored intaglio and letterpress. A large anaconda-type serpent winds across the lower left portion of the design over stylized river waves, while at center-right a man paddles a dugout canoe on the river, with a sweeping aerial view of the meandering Amazon river system and forested landscape in the background. A Victoria Regia (giant water lily) flower vignette appears at lower right, and a circular Banco de la República seal is at upper right. Three vertical green security threads inscribed 'BRC' are visible across the note, and a quoted text by Virginia Gutiérrez de Pineda is printed at upper right. |

Colombia's Banco de la República has operated its own printing facility — the Imprenta de Billetes — since 1959, one of the few central banks in Latin America to maintain fully domestic production for its entire circulating series. The 10,000 Peso denomination has been a workhorse note through successive inflationary pressures that eroded the purchasing power of lower denominations to near-irrelevance by the 2010s.
Pick 460 runs across a six-year window with relatively minor security upgrades between print years. The watermark and embedded thread specification is modest by contemporary standards — Colombian issues of this period were already being phased toward polymer in lower denominations, though this note retained cotton stock throughout the series run.
