| Opmerkingen |
The Pick 160 series was the last high-denomination peseta issue before Spain began its decade-long convergence process toward European monetary union. The 10,000 peseta note carried real purchasing weight in 1985 — roughly equivalent to a week's wage for many Spanish workers — which made it both heavily circulated and frequently counterfeited. The FNMT responded with a security profile that included fluorescent fibers and a metallic thread, relatively advanced for domestic Spanish production at the time.
