| Additional information |
Part of Spain's sprawling 1992 Olympic coinage program tied to the Barcelona Games, this issue belongs to one of the largest commemorative series any national mint had undertaken to that point — dozens of denominations across gold, silver, and base metal, covering individual sports in granular detail. Baseball made its first appearance as a full medal sport at those Games, after decades as a demonstration event, which is the direct reason it warranted its own issue at all.
