| Obverse description | The national emblem of the Lao People's Democratic Republic occupies the central field, depicting the That Luang stupa set against a landscape of fields and forest, flanked by a cogwheel at the base and framed by two sheaves of rice tied with a ribbon bearing a Lao-script inscription. The legend 'THE LAO PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC' curves along the upper periphery in Latin characters, while Lao-script inscriptions appear within the emblem. The denomination '10000 ກີບ' and the date '2006' are inscribed in the lower field, all devices rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished proof field. |
