| Reverse description | A galloping horse rendered in the expressive ink-painting style of the celebrated Chinese artist Xu Beihong occupies the central field, depicted in dynamic motion with mane and tail flowing freely. The artist's Chinese seal signature appears to the right of the horse in the field. The inscription '1/25 OZ 999.9 FINE GOLD' arcs along the upper periphery in Latin letters, while the denomination '10,000 Kip' is inscribed along the lower border. |

| Additional information |
Laos issued this piece under the Banque Nationale du Laos at a moment when the kip had lost catastrophic value following the 1997 Asian financial crisis — the currency shed roughly 85% against the dollar between 1997 and 1999. Gold collector issues denominated in kip from this period carry face values that are largely symbolic, the nominal figure bearing no meaningful relationship to bullion content or market reality.
