| 表面の説明 | A textured relief map of the African continent dominates the central field, rendered in a stippled or granular style to suggest topography. The legend REPUBLIQUE DU TCHAD arcs along the upper periphery in bold incuse letters. The denomination 10.000 f appears in the lower left field beneath the map. The date 1970 is inscribed in the exergue at the base of the design, below the continental outline. |

Chad's independence commemorative gold issues were struck by the Paris Mint under the broader francophone African commemorative program that followed the 1960 decolonization wave. France actively facilitated these coins for newly independent states that lacked domestic minting infrastructure — the pieces were as much a diplomatic product as a numismatic one, intended to generate foreign exchange and international recognition simultaneously.
Mintages across the Chad independence gold series were extremely low, with most denominations produced in the hundreds rather than thousands. The 1970 date places this issue a full decade after independence, coinciding with a period of acute civil instability under President Tombalbaye.
