The CFP franc — Franc Pacifique — has been pegged to the euro (and before it, the French franc) at a fixed rate since 1945, making the Institut d'Émission d'Outre-Mer one of the few issuing authorities in the world that has never had to manage a floating exchange rate. That stability meant this note remained in circulation across a remarkably long production window without the pressure of redenomination or crisis replacement driving design changes.

Pierrette Lambert was among the more prolific designers working for the Banque de France's note production program in the latter twentieth century. The watermark remains the sole listed security feature — modest by the standards of late-issue paper currency, though the territories served by IEOM were not high-counterfeiting environments.
