Obverse description The central field depicts a highly detailed high-relief rendering of the wreck of the RMS Titanic resting on the ocean floor, showing the bow section with deck structures, railings, and marine encrustation rendered in fine sculptural detail. Two blocks of commemorative text are inscribed in the upper field: the first reading 'THE RMS TITANIC SANK ON HER MAIDEN TRIP AFTER STRIKING AN ICEBERG ON APRIL 14, 1912,' and the second reading 'THE WRECK OF THE RMS TITANIC WAS DESIGNATED AS AN INTERNATIONAL MARITIME MEMORIAL ON OCTOBER 21, 1986.' At the lower center of the field, a circular cartouche bears the arms of the Republic of Benin encircled by the legend 'REPUBLIQUE DU BENIN,' with the denomination '10000 FRANCS CFA' inscribed below the shield. The overall finish is antique, imparting a subdued, aged appearance to the relief.

The upper field bears the bold raised legend 'THE TITANIC WRECK WORLD HERITAGE' arranged in three lines. At the lower portion of the field, the year of issue '2016' and the metallic specifications '1 KG .999 AG' are inscribed, certifying the coin's weight and silver fineness.
