| Reverse description | The reverse presents a highly detailed sculptural depiction of the traditional Chinese money tree (摇钱树), its broad canopy laden with rows of stacked ancient coins and ingots rendered in high relief. The gnarled, swirling trunk rises from an ornate basin or treasure bowl (聚寶盆) decorated with a Greek key meander border and flanked by dragon-head handles. Three Chinese characters 聚寶盆 appear in cartouches on the face of the bowl. The entire composition rests on a decorative plinth adorned with elephant-head motifs at either side, with a central scroll panel bearing the legend 摇钱树 (Money Tree). The antique finish accentuates the deeply sculptured, three-dimensional relief throughout. |
