| Reverse description | A large, iconic frontal effigy of the Virgin Mary — Sancta Maria Mater Dei — dominates the field in deeply struck high relief, her serene visage framed by a flowing veil and an elaborate jewelled crown adorned with a central star and fleur-de-lis motifs. The composition is framed by an ornate border of acanthus and floral scrollwork, within which two adoring angels are depicted in prayer at the left and right margins respectively. A decorative ribbon scroll in the lower field bears the Latin inscription SANCTA MARIA MATER DEI in elegant lettering, with the Roman numeral date MMXV beneath. The fineness designation 1 KG AG 999 appears discreetly along the right inner border, completing this devotional numismatic icon rendered in antiqued finish. |
