The "Lady with an Ermine" is Leonardo da Vinci's portrait of Cecilia Gallerani, painted around 1489–90 while she was the mistress of Ludovico Sforza, Duke of Milan. Chad has become one of the more prolific issuers of large-format art tribute coins through the Paris-based Monnaie de Paris and private minting partners, targeting the collector novelty market rather than any domestic monetary function. A coin of this weight never circulated — at over a kilogram, it was never intended to.
