The nude male athlete is depicted in a dynamic twisting pose, torso bent forward, right arm extended upward and behind grasping the discus, while the left hand rests upon the right knee. The musculature of the figure is rendered with exceptional sculptural precision, capturing the frozen moment of maximum tension before release. The face of the athlete, turned downward in concentration, features fine curling hair.
