| Aanvullende informatie |
Côte d'Ivoire has issued coins under its own authority since the early 2000s largely as a vehicle for the commemorative and bullion collector market — these pieces have no practical circulation history and are produced by European private mints under licensing arrangements. The CFA franc zone, of which Côte d'Ivoire is a member, does not use domestically struck commemoratives in everyday commerce.
The ten akoya pearls inlaid into this kilo piece are sourced from saltwater oysters cultivated primarily in Japan and China, each requiring several years of growth before harvest.
