The Bank of Central African States issues commemorative coinage on behalf of six member nations — Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon — under a currency union established in 1972 whose franc remains pegged to the euro via France's treasury guarantee.
