10 000 Francs

Guinea's 10 000 Francs denomination was reintroduced as part of a broader revaluation and reissue program following the political turmoil of the late 2000s — the country had just emerged from the military junta government of Moussa Dadis Camara, whose rule collapsed after the September 2009 massacre in Conakry's main stadium. Oberthur Fiduciaire, a long-standing printer for Francophone African central banks, produced this 2010 series as the transitional government moved to stabilize the financial system ahead of the country's first democratic elections in decades.

By this point the Guinean Franc had suffered severe inflationary pressure, making the 10 000 note a practical necessity rather than a high-denomination curiosity.
