Comorian poetic verse in Shikomori script runs across the upper register, with the issuer's name in French — BANQUE CENTRALE DES COMORES — and the denomination DIX MILLE FRANCS rendered in intaglio along the lower margin. 备注

Roger Pfund is a Geneva-based artist whose banknote work spans several African and Pacific issuers — his involvement here marks one of the more unusual crossovers between fine-arts printmaking and central bank commission work. The Banque de France has printed Comorian currency since the islands' monetary arrangements were formalized after independence in 1975, a relationship that reflects the franc comorien's fixed peg to the euro (formerly the French franc), maintained through a guarantee agreement with the French Treasury.

The note's long print run — the 2006 series remaining current well into the 2020s — points to the limited throughput demands of an archipelago economy of under a million people.
